Current & Future Adult Sunday School Classes

Sunday study classes for adults change every quarter, starting in September, December, March, and June. This allows adults to seek topics of interest and make new friends along the way. Some longer studies may extend multiple quarters. See what class is best for you for the current quarter. Checkout new classes here a few weeks before each new quarter starts.

NOTE: if the class recommends paid materials, the registration must be placed prior to a week before the class starts so that materials can be ordered. Otherwise, you will need to acquire the materials on your own.

Class 201: Growing in Maturity

Facilitator: Pastor Troy Nelson

Mar 4 — May 27

This class is the second in the First Baptist Church Basic Class series. Since this class builds on Discovering Church Membership 101 (a.k.a. “Getting Connected”), you must first have attended that class before taking this one, or already be a member of FBC. We will be exploring how to grow in Christian maturity, namely how to develop: 1.) A joyous relationship; 2.) A new lifestyle; 3.) A biblical value system; and 4.) A new belief system. This last component will work through 5 key life issues that all believers need to work through to develop a Christian worldview.

Ezekiel

Facilitator: Bob Jones

Mar 4 — May 27

The purpose of the Book of Ezekiel is essentially threefold: (1) to explain that Judah must be judged for disobedience; (2) to encourage the remnant of Judah through prophecies of her glorious future restoration; (3) to emphasize the preeminence of God's glory and character. The glory of God may well be viewed as the theme of the book, because Ezekiel's ministry begins with a vision of God's glory and emphasizes it throughout the book. (excerpt from The Liberty Annotated Study Bible, Ex. Editor Rev. Jerry Falwell )

You’ve probably found there are not many people who understand the deep hurt you feel. Times of loss can be a confusing time when you feel isolated and have many questions about things you’ve never faced before. Grief Share can help. One person said “Going to Grief Share feels like having warm arms wrapped around you when you’re shivering.”. This group will meet weekly for 13 weeks and will help you face these challenges and move toward rebuilding your life.
